Memory Keeping Planner Inspiration
Hello friends! Documenting your favorite moments in your planner is a great way to scrapbook when you don’t have a lot of time for recording everyday life. It’s fun, easy and the notes you jot down become your stories. There are a wide variety of options for memory planning including digital templates, personal planners, and planners designed specifically for this type of memory keeping. In fact, all of the Cocoa Daisy planners can be used for memory keeping as well as planning. We have many examples in almost every size on Pinterest and our blog. DT member Traci is sharing a layout using a digital template and the Orchard Path kits. “This year, I'm really loving documenting in the memory planner style, I often make my own ‘planner’ pages in Photoshop to better suit my needs” “For this layout, I used the free paper printable for newsletter subscribers to make the base of my layout and then printed my journaling directly on the calendar grid with the background!” “From there, it was all about adding my photos, titles and a bit of layering to finish off the spread.” You can find Traci’s process video here. Next we have Rachel sharing a layout in her Big Happy Planner. ”I’m excited to share another memory planner spread with you today! I cannot get enough of the March Orchard Path kits and will likely use them on every spread this month!” ”For this layout, I decided to focus on the orange, peach and green tones. This made choosing decorations, embellishments and labels much easier. Memory planning is straightforward with a kit because you know everything will coordinate and look great together.” “The weekly template of the Big Happy Planner seems fixed at first, but I like to imagine the template as as a suggestion and not a rigid structure of the page. For this spread, I played around with placement of photos, journaling and decoration so that some stories follow the vertical layout, while other stories follow a horizontal format.” ”One kit that I find incredibly handy for memory planning is the Pocket Memory Keeping kit. I use pocket cards directly on my planner pages because they fit perfectly in the boxes (horizontally). I also love to use my Big Happy Planner Punch to punch out pieces of the the pocket cards to use as backgrounds in the daily boxes.” ”I was so excited to find the cardstock stickers and the speech bubbles in the memory keeping kit this month, too. This planner will get pretty bulky with dimensional embellishments, so having the cardstock stickers (instead of chipboard) helps keep the bulk to a minimum. And I loved using speech bubbles as journaling spots, like I did on the bottom of the left page. Since my journaling was about great conversations, the speech bubble worked perfectly!” Embellishing with flat lay products such as stickers, stamps, die cuts, and washi tape keep the bulk down and allow you to create across a broad spectrum of simple through complex designs. And don’t forget you can punch or cut a multitude of shapes, phrases and designs from kit papers and still maintain a fairly flat layout. We’d love to see how you are memory keeping in your planners.
