Make it Interactive with the Elegance Blooms Collection

Make it Interactive with the Elegance Blooms Collection
Hello, friends! What do you do when you want to add more photos or journaling to a memory-keeping spread, but you have run out of room? How about creating an interactive element for a little fun and function? We are sharing a few ways to create flips and pockets inside a memory planner. We are "flipping" in love with Marsha's memory planning in her Daisy Planner! I am enjoying memory planning in the Daisy Planner this year and was excited to use the Elegance Blooms Collection and Valentine Bonus Kit for this week‚Äôs layout. The spread includes lots of interactive elements, allowing more space for photos and journaling. I created a simple pocket at the top of the first page by adding adhesive to three sides of a trimmed patterned paper from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. A thumb notch created with a circle punch allows the photo to slide in and out of the pocket easily. This spread also includes a few flips for additional photos and journaling spots. The hinges for the flips were created by scoring thin paper and adhering it along the side or top edge of the photos. I also trimmed patterned papers from the Elegance Blooms Collection into banner shapes and stapled them along the edges of the flips to keep them in place as the pages are turned. The last interactive element was created by stitching along the edge of a die-cut tag from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, allowing it to lift up and reveal additional journaling. I love the interest interactive elements provide on a spread, and they are just plain fun! Check out this video to see the interactive elements up close!   I, too, am quite fond of interactive elements in my memory planner! Typically, I am adding an interactive piece for three reasons. First, I have several photos I want to document for a given day, adding a flip or pocket is easy to fit all the photos on the page (Thursday and Saturday on this spread). Second, I have photos and journaling I want to include, but keep it somewhat hidden. Third, there are photos I want to include but don't really coordinate with the overall spread (flip on Friday). Here is the first example here with two photos and stories for one day. I actually made this pocket with the packaging from the Elegance Blooms Collection! The card was made by trimming down a paper from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and embellishing various alphas and stickers from the collection.¬† This tag flip was so fun to make! I made it by folding a tag from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit so that the top of the tag was longer than the folded section. Next, I folded the top over and staple it to create a flap for the interactive element to tuck into. I have a similar tag flip tutorial on my YouTube channel.¬†Get a closer look at this spread and the rest of my 2021 pages in this video on my YouTube Channel!
