Hello, friends!

The watercolor paper pad was a special surprise in the Inklings Creative Kit, and it is so much fun to play and experiment on its pages. 

Playing with color on these papers really gave me the creative kickstart I needed to continue experimenting and building on these backgrounds.

For this dashboard, I layered the edges of this page with papers from the Inklings Creative Kit and stamps from the Inklings Scrapbooking Kit. To give the quote card a landing place on the page, I stamped around it with the Inklings Create a Collage Stamp Set. 

To add contrast to the colors, I used Dylusions Shimmer Spray from the Inklings Creative Kit to splatter black around the page. A tip: put whatever you are spraying in the box your kits come in. This keeps the spray from going places you don't want it to! Then I had all the fun layering papers, rub-on's, and die cuts to create a mixed media feel to this page. 

Another experiment completed, one that even included a little creative bravery in adding smears of acrylic paint over a stencil from my stash, balanced out with more stamping and those gorgeous rub-ons. I really felt like a kid again, playing with these supplies. This is the secret to getting better at anything, especially creative practices. Enjoy the process and letting go of the outcome.
