Greetings Cocoa Daisy fans,
What do you get when you drop a pumpkin? A squash. He he...are you a pumpkin lover or a pumpkin hater? I'm not a big fan of most things pumpkin with the exception of the pumpkin roll. Yum! ...but I digress. As you can tell, we have pumpkin on our minds here at Cocoa Daisy and so we challenged our DT to add a little pumpkin. The team created several wonderfully adorable designs to share with you today. Traci is starting us off with her Pumpkin Spice layout.
"Pumpkin spice and everything nice, that's what basic girls are made of! Who cares if Starbucks debuted their pumpkin flavors in AUGUST this year? I think it's what we all needed. I had a super fun time creating this autumnal-themed spread, complete with a million pumpkins, for a layout that's going smack-dab in the middle of my summer TN."
"Of course, in the middle of all that autumn yum, I had to create a super large title calling out the fact that it was august, just to get a little cheeky."
"Design-wise, since I was wearing blue in my photos and there's just a hint of blue in the Flannel and Frost collection, I knew I needed to add pops of blue here and there to tie it all together, so I pulled in blue letter stickers and blue chipboard and it worked perfectly!" Another totally adorable design and Traci created a process video that you can view here.
Next we have another sweet layout from Korrie-ann using the Flannel and Frost printables. "We met this little cute guy on our walk, I expected him to roll up into a ball as we got closer but nope he just froze in place, so I snapped a quick picture."
"I couldn't wait to document the moment so I downloaded the printables from the website and spent the evening fussy cutting all the pieces. Can you believe this layout is made up of only the printables, there are an amazing amount to print and cut out."
"I love the blue leaves, they are a nice contrast with the orange so I combined both colours to add some watercolour splatters to my page. Using the leaves that I have cut out, I have layered them just popping out of the dot grid paper and on the opposite side I have layered the leaf design and wood veneer papers."
"The pocket cards are perfect for layering with my photograph and the pumpkins I have added some 3d foam to add a little dimension to the page." We love all of Korrie-ann's fussy cutting and layering in her lovely layout. You view all of our free printables by clicking here.
Audrey created a 12x12 layout for this challenge. "Aren't I the cutest pumpkin in the patch? As soon as I saw the rich browns, deep maroons and intense oranges in the Flannel and Frost collection I knew I had to give this old photo some new life.
I started with a cut file that I have had in my "electronic stash" forever. I used my Silhouette to cut it out.
"To build this patchwork, plaid pumpkin, I traced the papers from the Memory Keeping and Traveler's Notebook kits inside the pumpkin and then glued them down. After I built the pumpkin, I used some Distress Ink from my stash to break up the negative space of the background paper. I also splattered some shimmer paint around the pumpkin."
"The picture is of me, when I was 3 years old in the pumpkin patch. I did not use the original photo, instead, what I did was take a picture of the photo, crop it and print it out to use in this layout. I popped up the photo using pop dots from my stash and angled it away from the pumpkin."
"I finished this layout by scattering a few embellishments around the photo and the pumpkin. The hedgehogs from this collection are so darn cute and I just couldn't resist having one peak up over the photo of little me. For a touch of whimsy, I added some of the small leaf puffy stickers found on the Simple Stories sticker sheet in the Memory Keeping Classified kit. I just love the element of surprise with these kits each month. Happy fall y'all!"  Audrey's flashback layout is wonderful and another example that shows us we can go back and tell the stories sitting in our stack of past photos!
