I selected the red, soft, floral print pattern in the Serenity Simple Daisy Notebook as the backdrop for my photos. I wanted to use the pattern and color to make my photos shine without hiding the paper design. That meant placing the photos at the top right corner of the page. Having all that negative space helped to balance the color in the pictures with the bold color in the paper. I have to say that the designs in this month’s Simple Notebook are just fabulous.

 

 

I made sure to add just a few extra embellishments to my photos. I started with the ephemera in the Serenity Scrapbook Kit. The red label helps to ground the rest of the elements to the page and provides the space to add a few extra sentiments using the Serenity Scrapbook Kit stamp set. A few enamel dots complete this side of the page.

  

  

To balance the spread, I am using the large flowering tree image from the Serenity Scrapbook Kit rub-ons. I placed it on the bottom left corner of the page, then layered the sentiment piece of the rub-ons to bring more interest to this corner of the spread. Having the main elements of the page at opposite corners brings balance to the spread.

  

  

All that remained to do was add a title (using the puffy alpha in the Serenity Scrapbook Kit), my journaling lines, and a few scattered enamel dots to complete my spread. I hope this inspires you to reach for your Serenity kits and get creating!! XO!
