For the Love of Food! 3 Ways to Document our Favorite Foods
Hello, friends! Food is an important part of our lives, so why not give it a little space in our memory-keeping, journal and planners?. When I'm out for a special occasion, or even at home sharing a home-cooked meal, I like to take photos of our food to relive the memory and help tell the story! In the spirit of food documenting, we asked our Creative Team to share a few ways they embrace their love of food in their projects. Today, we have recipes, food tracking, and creative listing to help document the food of our lives. A great way to capture a favorite food is with a recipe! Check out what Traci did to make this recipe extra sweet. "I love, love, love scrapping recipes and food in my theme-specific albums, so when I tried this new (to me) recipe for Apple Cider Donut Loaf Cake, I knew it had to make it into my October Daily! I decided to work WITH the fold of the papers from the Gather Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and create a flap for my tag and title cluster to sit on that opens to reveal my journaling and photo of the cake. On the opposite side, I printed my recipe on one of the printable papers, (trimmed down) from the Gather Planner Printable. I used the fun puffy alphas from the Gather Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to add the recipe title!   Check out my Instagram to see a tutorial of this spread."   Food is part of our everyday story and tracking it can help us with our health choices. We love how Pauline creates her own inside her planner.
"I absolutely love to track what we eat. I create a double page for food tracking each month in my planner. It helps me to remember what we eat to avoid eating the same things all the time. When I run out of ideas, I can look at previous months, too! I do a meal plan as well, but it's just a list in my weekly planning. For this month's page, I used a page from the Gather Newsletter Printable Paper and a page from the Gather A5 Planner Pages as the background. I added some stickers and die cuts from the Gather Planner Kit to complete the decoration. For each week, I use an old "week" stamp, and for the weeks' number, I used the number stamp from the Gather Memory Keeping Stamp Sets. I also included days' initials with a colored ballpoint pen.
I decorated with a sticker and a die-cut, and then I added some stamping. To help with stamping, I work with only one page on my desk. That's one of the reasons why I love discs!
I used a big die-cut, then added some alphas for the "meal" word. I also added the "trackers" in order to finish my title. All those items were in the Gather Planner Kit. To finish the zone, I included a little pumpkin sticker and the "favorite food" stamp from the Gather Memory Keeping Stamp Sets. Now, I'm ready to meal track all November!"
Do you have a favorite type of food? Why not make a fun creative list, like Marsha!
"I was inspired by the circular designs and elements in the Gather Collection and thought they would be perfect for a layout in my Gather Simple Dori documenting some of my favorite fall foods- soup! I used the number stamps from the Gather Modern Memory Keeping Kit to create a list of favorites and stamped the numbers with different ink colors.
I used a punch to cut out a few circular pieces to add to the top of the layout for additional interest. The other page of the spread includes my photo, and I liked that it continued the circular design. The puffy alphabet stickers from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit were the perfect addition to a die-cut label.
I chose more round embellishments from the kits and used them to embellish the page. This was such a fun layout to create documenting food using the beautiful Gather Collection!"
