Denim and Blush Classified: Memory Keeping Kit Challenge...Accepted!
Hello, Friends! Every now and then, it is nice to pare down your supplies and see what you can create. Today, we have set out a challenge to design a layout featuring the Denim and Blush Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. This kit comes with everything you need to create a spread in any format and we can’t wait to share what the designers made! Carol was up for the challenge and shares this beautiful spread with us. This 12x12 layout was such a fun one to create! Using elements all from the Denim and Blush Classified: Memory Keeping Kit, some watercolors, a photo, background cardstock, a bit of string, and a glue stick was all I really needed to make it happen. The boldness of the “February” tag was just what I needed for my story. 2021 is the year I plan on getting my youngest daughter’s baby album finished. Part of completing the album includes making monthly milestone pages for her. I love that I can have a visual of the month this photo was taken. I tore some of the papers for layering and pops of color. The puffy hearts are such a perfect embellishment to stagger and I did so in a diagonal pattern towards my photo to draw the eye there. The adhesive labels were also a super fun and practical addition for my journaling, date stamp, and even a layering piece under the acrylic “lovely”. This was such a fun challenge, limiting supplies and not reaching into other kits. I hope you’ll try it sometime this month! Carol’s use of the large tag is perfect. We also cannot get enough of all the paper layers and delicate embellishment clusters with the puffy hearts and labels. I’m jumping in on the challenge and am excited to share a Memory Planner spread with you. I am pretty sure I squealed when I unboxed the Denim and Blush Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. The papers and the labels really caught my eye. I decided to feature these elements in a memory planner spread using the Cocoa Daisy Planner. Because I was limiting my embellishments, I wanted to also make my design slightly more streamlined as well. Typing my journaling was a first for me. This minimal (for me!) design meant more room for the stories of the week. Once I wrote my journaling, I printed it onto clear sticker paper. I was able to add the journaling directly to a label die-cuts, the patterned paper and the page itself. Printing on clear sticker paper made the typed journaling look seamless with the elements it was adhered to. Have I mentioned how much I love the labels from this kit? I used them for stamped sentiments, as a hinge for a photo flip, and as a decorative pop, too. I also adore the large tags that came in the kit. Since I had no photos or much to write about on Sunday, I trimmed one down one of the tags to embellish the open space. I couldn’t help myself and had to use the Denim and Blush Memory Keeping Stamps for a few titles and some decorative touches. I love mixing and matching the “Love” stamp with the other sentiments. I have a feeling these stamps will get quick a bit of use past February! If you’d like to watch this spread come together, check out my process video on my YouTube channel. Have you tried a one-kit only creative challenge? If not, give it a try. Sometimes, working with less make you even more creative.
