Today I’m working with the Coconut Cove Stationery Kit to create a custom cover for my July notebook insert. I really wanted some of the beautiful vellum and acetate details shine through without covering everything up completely.

 

 

The Coconut Cove Stationery Kit ended up being perfect for this because it has such a good mix of specialty vellum and acetate papers, sticky things and little details that could work well on what I was trying the achieve. One of my favorite parts of this project was figuring out how to use the acetate overlay as both protection and decoration at the same time. I did use the Coconut Cove Scrapbooking kit alphas for the front cover but customized them by using scraps from the vellum and then added a PET sticker whale as a cute addition.

 

 

I added a pocket inside for stickers and little extras made from the Stationery kit postcard, layered in a fussy cut vellum palm tree from the Stationery kit poking out from the top. The whole notebook feels beachy and functional too!

 

 

I loved adding those finishing details on the back with the postage-style stickers from the Coconut Cove Stationery Kit along the seam of the vellum and acetate connection since one piece was not quite wide enough. To finish off the back, I placed the remainder of the postcard trim and flipped it over for a nice landing spot for another whale, postcard stamp and a few fish stickers to tie everything together!
