Creative Ways to Use Serengeti in Your Project Life
By Cocoa Daisy
Hello Daisies!
Project life, also known as PL, is a popular way for memory keepers to document their everyday life. Over the years PL has taken on different formats including a mix of pocket configurations, mediums and time frames. We see traditional weekly documentation as well as monthly layouts and #52favorites, which is one story every week. Our memory keeping TN and pocket kits can accommodate all of these formats!
Jil is sharing a double page 9x12 layout which is a very popular size. "Since I'm still catching up in my Project Life album for the year, I used cards from a mixture of the spring Cocoa Daisy kits on these spreads, but I loved diving into the die cuts, washi, and other embellishments from the beautiful Serengeti kit."
"It amused me to tag my dog 'queen of the jungle,' especially since she's perched on a special pillow my boyfriend placed at the end of the bed for her! The blue, orange, and green color scheme and the cards with bold graphic words unify my first spread, but because the Cocoa Daisy kits coordinate so well with each other, it was easy to pull in Serengeti stickers, leaf imagery, and word strips."
"As usual, I enjoyed using some 3x4 photos and some 3X3 that nestle in between the sayings and designs on the cards."
"On both of my spreads, the Nuvo glitter drops were fun to use along with the enamel dots from the kit to add final embellishing."
"These details, along with machine stitching, keep the viewer's eyes moving not only across the page but across the spread since these are separate but facing pages in my album."
Next Melina is sharing a 12x12 layout size with mixed 3x4 and 4x6 photos.
Anybody that says you have to use the same colors and themes with pictures when memory keeping, have never stepped out of their comfort zone and went a little wild! I love mixing up colors and not being so matchy-matchy when it comes to documenting my memories. The cards from the ùëÜùëíùëüùëíùëõùëîùëíùë°ùëñ Pocket Memory Keeping kit pair well with so many things.
The wood accents in these pictures I thought went great with the colors in the June kits, even though the kits have a safari theme and these are clearly not zoo, animal, or safari pictures. One of my favorite accents used in my pocket pages is adding die cuts to pictures. This is also a great way to cover up something in a picture you don’t particularly want shown, like the “no vehicles on the bridge” sign that I covered with the circle die-cut on the bottom right picture. The puffy epoxy stickers give just the right finishing touch to any project. And of course, I’m a big fan of journaling so my pages always include quite a bit. The Cocoa Daisy pens from the main planner kits are always by my desk for journaling memories.
