Cranberry and Plaid Design Ideas for Memory Keepers and Planners

Cranberry and Plaid Design Ideas for Memory Keepers and Planners
Hello Cocoa Daisy friends, On the blog today the design team is sharing ideas for combining cranberry and plaid to create designs in their memory planners and scrapbooks. Plaid is such a fun pattern to use when documenting our stories and memories and the Cranberry Rose kits have several designs to chose from including exclusive kit papers and pocket cards. Let's begin with a foundation page I created for my December Stories album. Every December we listen to holiday music in the car during our travels and although we cannot travel this year, we're still going to listen to music but in a different way. I want to document the songs, albums, and stations that become our favorites and created a 6x8 pocket page of 2x2 pockets that I can update throughout December. I added some templates so that you can see how I will document our favorites. I decided to use both the green and cranberry plaid papers for this design. The cranberry plaid, with some hand stitching to highlight the pattern, serves as the background for my green plaid records. My December 2020 album is all about texture and I'm going to be adding a lot of stitching! As I was playing with ideas for this page, I realized the sparkly enamel dots make the perfect center for my record labels. The records will a super cute way to document our favorite songs and albums. I also made a few backgrounds with texture paste and a music note stencil. I'm not sure if I will use them. We'll see how it all plays out. My idea for the 2x2 squares with the music notes is to add a strip of paper with the title and another strip with the artist. I'm looking forward to documenting our December stories! Next we have a planner layout from Casie. "Hi there Daisy fans! I love Christmas with the combo of red and white everywhere. The pocket card sentiment matches my feelings about December exactly! (Despite whatever else crazy 2020 can throw our way!)" "I layered pattern papers to provide a colorful background for the journal card to lay on. Along with a rose die cut and pretty bow paper clip at the top." "I know this page will bring a smile to my face every time I open my planner." We love all the ways Casie incorporated the cranberry color and plaid pattern in her layout. The little green bow clip at the top is adorable! Our final design is from Jil and she is sharing a layout in her December Daily album. Jil notes, "I drew from the Cranberry Rose memory keeping kits to make this spread in my 6x8 story album. I'm excited about creating a December Daily album this year, and as part of the preparation I typed a list of some of the topics I want to include in my documenting." "I'm also aware that the holiday season will be very different during this year of pandemic. So my title, Top Priority: Seeking Joy, is prominent above the photo collage of my Christmas cactus, which is blooming now (yay!). I'm welcoming the challenge, and the beautiful papers and cards in the Cranberry Rose kits helped me tell the story of my intentions and anticipation." "I love the mix of candy-apple red and cranberry in the kit, and I called attention to that with my stamping ink (and Ali Edwards stamps). I love the plaids in the kit, and my 3X4 card, layering paper under my photo, and the tone-on-tone red plaid punched circle under the word 'joy' introduce the plaids, which mix beautifully with the reds." "Most of the embellishments are from the kit--chipboard, glitter dots, and that pretty gold polka dot washi tape. I added a sequin mix from my stash because it matched the festive kit colors so well. I sprinkled them in the pocket on the lower left and glued them to the upper right corner of my title to frame the spread with holiday sparkle!"
