Tai Cortes: Bold Pocket Cards for Stunning Pocket Page Spreads!

serenity scrapbooking kit

Hello, my crafty friends! It's Tai and I have a fun project using the Serenity Scrapbooking Kit, and the Serenity Pocket Cards. This collection is simply beautiful and one of my favorites. I love the cherry blossoms and Asian female figures. I have enjoyed creating with this kit. My pocket cards are amazing and I instantly loved the 4x6 card with ‘Think Positive’. My project will start with this card.

Once I had selected my sentiment card, I needed to select a journaling card. This could have been a 3x4 card, but I loved this 4x6 card with the bold black foliage around the edge. Thus far, my project is black, white, and a bit of red. As an option, a full-page photo could have been used, but to change things up a bit I printed my photo at 4.25x8.25 for the opposite side. This is the size of a traveler’s notebook page.

I need to have cohesion across both sides of my projects. To tie the photo into the black, white, and red color scheme, I cut out three different-sized hearts from some of the coordinating pocket cards and layer them together for stacked pieces of ephemera on my photo. The size was perfect to work in some of that negative space on my photo.

For more interest, I layer a chipboard fan, a puffy floral sticker, and a Japanese character rub-on atop of my layered heart. This whole cluster looks amazing on my page and makes the two sizes talk to each other.

For the last details of my project, I add a bird rub-on near my hat on the photo and a few enamel dots on my heart. On the pocket cards, I add a few puffy stickers and a few chipboard elements too. I enjoy adding these details towards the end of each project. This is a beautiful collection and I hope you use it to document your fun memories.
