Accordion Style Mini Album with Futterby Papers

Hello, friends!

Create an accordion-style mini album with the Flutterby 12x12 Paper Add-On and the Flutterby Scrapbooking Kit.

Traci Reed: Accordion Style Mini Album with Futterby Papers

I used every single sheet from the Flutterby 12x12 Paper Add-On, along with the 6x8 papers from the Flutterby Scrapbooking Kit, to create this layered accordion-style mini album—and I love how it turned out. Each page is sized to 8.5 x 5 inches, which gave me just the right amount of space to let those bold patterns shine while still leaving room for interactive details.

The Flutterby 12x12 Paper Add-On was perfect for fully covering some of the pages or tearing down into strips and shapes for collage-style layering. I mixed in the 6x8 papers strategically—the smaller scale of the patterns helped break things up and added contrast without overwhelming the design. Having both paper sizes on hand made it super easy to create visual variety across the album.

Because it’s an accordion album, I had room to play with the format. Some panels pull out to form long, continuous spreads, while others are adhered together to create pockets for journaling cards, tags, and little tucked-away bits. It’s fun and interactive, and each turn of the page brings something a little different.

This whole project felt like a celebration of the paper itself—between the soft watercolor washes, florals, butterflies, and painterly textures, there was so much to work with. Using both the full-sized and 6x8 papers gave me the best of both worlds: bold impact and fine detail, all in one cohesive little book. Check out my Instagram Reel to see it up close!
