6x8 Design with Big Sky Kits
Howdy, friends!
Old memories receive new life when you are documenting with the Big Sky Collection!
Linda Jordan: 6x8 Design
When I saw the Big Sky Collection, I knew I wanted to use it to tell some older stories from when I lived in Arizona. I have a lot of older photos + stories from that time period, especially from my daughter's early years, that I haven't scrapbooked and would like to. Because these photos are older, the resolution isn't as great as I'd like, so documenting in 6x8 is the perfect size.
I knew I wanted this photo of my daughter taking in the views from Camelback Mountain to be a full page, but it also created the perfect home for my title in the open sky. The rub-on of the 3 cacti from the Big Sky Modern Memory Keeping Kit was a perfect base for my words. It went on so smoothly onto my photo, that I can't wait to use more of these on top of photos! Then I used a washi strip from the Big Sky Classic Cousin Sticker Kit as a base for my title.
My favorite paper in the Big Sky Modern Memory Keeping Kit was this fun pattern of lots of brands/labels from the West and I knew I wanted it to be the base of my project. I added some layered papers + stickers to hold an additional photo of my daughter.
Because this story was so old, I didn't have a lot of journaling to include. So, instead, I punched out one of the sentiments on a 3x4 card from the Big Sky Modern Memory Keeping Kit and used it as an embellishment. I clustered a few other pieces around it, including a label to hold the date and a wood veneer cactus.
In the final spread, I put the page created on the patterned paper at the left, so my daughter was looking towards the center of the spread. The two pages work together to create a completed spread for my daughter's childhood album. I love the idea of pairing a full-page photo with a page on a patterned paper, especially for these older stories where I only have a few words to add. I'm so happy to have this story told!
