3 Amazing Mini Albums to Consider Scrap Lifting!
Hello Cocoa Daisy Friends,
Mini albums are a wonderful way to take a longer story and turn it into a special and unique treasure. They can be completely custom made or you can use a small pocket album. Pinterest has lots of photos you can browse for ideas and there are numerous tutorials on YouTube. Electronic cutting machines are another great way to cut a variety of simple to complex mini album shapes and sizes.
Our design team loves to create mini albums and today they are sharing three seriously amazing designs. Let's begin with a lovely and creative box design by Korrie-ann. "I love wood effect papers and especially this one with the pop of turquoise, blue colour. I wanted my mini album to look like it had been in the sea or even part of a shipwreck. On a trip to my local craft store I found a wooden box I knew would be perfect for the base of my album."
"I first made the lid to fit on the top out of chipboard and covered it with the wood paper, saving the cutoffs for later. I then covered the opposite side of the chipboard before making the hinged base to hold my pages."
"My base consists of 8 pieces of paper, giving me 16 pages altogether for photos. We had just had a visit to Dunnotar castle, our first time since lockdown that we had gone further than our little town. So I had plenty of photos that I wanted to add to my album. I used the project life app to choose 16 photographs and printed them out. I kept my pages simple adding just a few die cuts and stickers from the Memory Keeping Kit to each page."
"Now back to my wooden box, I took the pieces of wood effect paper that I had saved earlier and tore them into different sizes and distressed the edges before gluing them into place on the box, giving the effect of the paint wearing away to show the wood below. I finished up with a few shells, string and flowers to decorate the front of the box." Using a box as the foundation for a mini album is a great way to create an album using a basic shape with dimension. Korrie-ann's mini album is gorgeous and didn't require special tools or a complex pattern to make it special and unique!
Next we have a clean and simple design by Melina that is sure to make you smile. "For our beach trip this year I wanted to make a little album for some of my favorite pictures. This mini book is so easy to put together! It measures 3.5”x5.5” and you can include all kinds of little bits from your kits to finish it up."
"I only had a few papers and cards from the Pocket Memory Keeping Kits and some die cuts and rub-ons leftover for this project, so I added in some fussy-cut printables for even more detail. It’s a quick little way to document a favorite trip or time in your life!"
"I have a flip through of this cutie on my YT channel." Simply adorable Melina!
Our final design today is an amazing combination of a box and mini book by Evy. "This year on vacation I decided to create a 4x6 album with cards. I used the cards of both formats of the memory keeping pocket kit to which I applied the tabs, made the holes and inserted the rings."
"For the inside pages I had fun inserting pockets and envelopes created with the patterned paper of the various July kits alternating cards and photos. I let you look at the photos for the various pages to understand how many embellishments I mixed."
"For the box I worked on recycling: I lined a box with patterned paper and an acetate printed by me with the freebie of the month. I applied a title of wood colored with the acrylic paint from the travelers-notebook memory keeping kit." There are so many wonderfully creative pages in Evy's mini album. I don't know about you, but I am inspired to continue working on my own mini albums and to try several of the design team's ideas too. We encourage you scrap lift their ideas and make them your own.
