A 12x12 Scrapbook layout showing yourself some love? Yes, please!

Taina Cortes: 12x12 Layout with the Wonderland Kits

Hello my crafty friends, it is Tai again with a 12x12 layout featuring the new Wonderland Collection. The Alice and wonderland theme to this month’s collection was very inspiring. The florals were going to be the focal illustration for my layout.

I selected a paper from the Wonderland 12X12 Papers that had pink florals illustrations in diagonal corners for my base. I used the second sheet of this patterned paper and cut out the florals to add florals to each corner instead of just two. After I did this, there were florals in all four corners.

I cut a 8x8 square from the patterned paper with cursive text and then a 7x7 of white card stock to mat my photo and tag elements. I selected one of the tags from the Wonderland 12x12 Scrapbooking Kit with a lovely quote on it and added the title ‘Be You’ with the black puffy alphas. I printed a photo with a vertical orientation to fit on the area left on the layout.

The layout needed something special, so I went and selected two floral stencils that complimented the layout. Both are from Tim Holtz and I used ‘Tacky when Dry Gel Medium’ from The Crafters workshop. It starts off white and dries to clear. When clear, it is ready for the next step which is varnishing the foil onto it.

The foil needs to be rubbed on top of all the areas where the medium was used with the stencil. When you lift up the foil it leaves behind the most beautiful metallic detail and that adds so much beautiful interest to the page.

The layout turned out beautiful and the metallic details make it special. The florals are my favorite feature.
