Ashley Horton: Scrap Small Saturday with Lillian's Garden KitsI used to be one of those crafters that took about 3 hours or more to complete one project. As the years have progressed, I've managed to get a lot faster. I have found that one of my favorite time-saving projects is working in the Traveler's Notebook size. And, I love that the Simple Dori in the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit already has a jump start on each page for a layout. I loved the horizontal design on the right side of this spread, with the mix of colors from this month's Lillian's Garden Collection and the simple patterns. It gave me the idea to do some tone-on-tone embellishing with the quote die cuts from the Lillian's Garden Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. Then, I saved a few of the other spaces to add my title, journaling, and date. I used the blue puffy alphas for my title and typed my journaling on clear sticker paper, so I could place it right where I wanted it. I kept the date simple, with one of the tags from the self-adhesive die-cut pack and a date stamp. You may be worried that working in a smaller format could limit the number of photos you use, but that's not the case. I was able to include 8 photos on this spread, by printing them in a film strip style. And once I had my photos in place, I used some of the puffy stickers and stickers from the Lillian's Garden Memory Keeping Sticker Kit to embellish. If you haven't tried working in a smaller format, I highly recommend it. I did 12x12 size for around 10 or more years, so it definitely helps boost your creativity and saves you time when you work on a smaller scale.
