Hi there Daisies! It's Kylie back with you today and I have a fun little DIY project to share with you all. I love to create my own dividers and dashboards for each month and I decided to create a simple window dashboard for May using the stunning May Tranquility kits. With a few crafty supplies and your favourite Cocoa Daisy products you will find making these super easy. The best part is you can create these to fit any size planner.
To begin, you will need to cut 2 pieces of Cocoa Daisy paper to the size of your required dashboard. I plan in a A5 ring planner so mine were cut to approximately 8.25" x 5.75". Next I took my favourite shaped metal die, a heart, and lined it up centred on one of the papers. (You could use any shape you like!)  When I was happy with its position, I used some washi tape to hold it in place whilst I ran it through my manual die cutting machine.
Next, I placed the second sheet of paper perfectly aligned under the first. The heart die was placed in the same position using the first cut paper as a guide and held again with washi tape. I then ran both sheets of paper through my machine together to ensure the heart would be perfectly placed to line up in the same position. That way when the two sheets are eventually adhered together there will not be any off cuts.
Each month I will usually order two sets of the planner die cuts. The May die cuts had some gorgeous Butterfly die cuts that I had multiples of.Since the die cuts are adhesive, all I needed to do was peel off the backing papers and line each die cut up. Sometimes they didn't match up perfectly which was ok, all I needed to do was trim any small amount of overhang off. TIP: If you didn't have multiple die cuts you could also use sequins or punched paper shapes.
The next step is to create your window. I cut down a piece of a laminate pouch and using the punched heart as a guide I placed my Butterflies where I wanted then to sit, between the sheets of the pouch. I wanted one butterfly to look as though he was peeping out. I ran the sheet through my laminator on high, twice and then adhered it in place to the back side of one heart using double sided adhesive tape. Both sheets of Cocoa Daisy paper were then adhered together and my planner holes punched with an A5 punch.
All that is left to do is embellish. I added some alpha stickers and a few more die cuts. Using a craft border punch, I also added a decorative edge using white cardstock and added a strip of washi tape over the join for an extra pop of colour! I really love how my little window turned out....
So that you can see exactly how I created my dashboard, I have also filmed a short video tutorial...[embed]https://youtu.be/cDzDm6TbI_s[/embed]
